Wilders considers steps against fake PVV site

27 02 2011

From Radio Netherlands Worldwide:

Freedom Party (PVV) leader Geert Wilders is considering taking legal action against a fake PVV site. He said he would meet with his lawyer to discuss his options.

The site www.pvvhaaglanden.nl has been online for a week and bears a close resemblance to the national PVV site. The photographs are the same, only the texts are different.

Visitors to the site are informed that the PVV wants to build a nuclear power plant on the beach at Scheveningen near The Hague “because the sand there is most suitable for construction purposes”. The party allegedly also wants to cut down all trees in The Hague because they pose a clear threat to motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.

Also, Egyptian geese, an exotic species in the Netherlands, are to be detained and sent back to their country of origin. And the site encourages young men between the age of 18 and 25 to apply for a training course to become an ‘urban commando’ so they can crack down on young Moroccans.

Geert Wilders has confirmed that the site is “totally fake”. Machiel de Graaf, PVV party leader in The Hague, has refused to comment.

According to DutchNews.nl, an anti-fascist group called AFA has since claimed responsibility for the site and taken it offlline.
