Wilders’ trial verdict postponed

2 10 2010

Via DutchNews.nl:

The verdict in Geert Wilders’ trial for inciting hatred will be announced two days later than originally planned, the Amsterdam court said on Friday.

The leader of the PVV anti-Islam party faces five charges of religious insult and anti-Muslim incitement in the trial, which begins on Monday. The court says it needs seven days to hear the evidence.

The original date for the verdict was November 2, the day on which film maker Theo van Gogh was killed in 2004 by a muslim extremist. But the court denies this is the reason, reports the Telegraaf.

I don’t know how many people know the legend, Sita’s Agni Pariksha.

When Lord Ram came back to his Kingdom after 14 years of exile, one(just one) citizen doubted her integrity, as she was kidnapped by Ravan a Demon King and Sita was in his custody for some time.

Sita even being Queen of Ayodhya was put to trial, to prove her innocence.

She stood the Trial and was proved innocent.

Now its Geert’s Agni-Pariksha (Fire-Test)

Secularism, free speech, democracy and independent judiciary kept India strong and united. India is prospering.

An extremist like you is only exposing yourself like those Shiv Sena who were condemned by good people including Gandhi.

Faruque Ahmed, Ravi Ranjan Singh is a real man. He is not an extremist, this is your type’s labelling of another person who is not Muslim, we are all used to it; to Mohammed, anyone who disagreed with him was ‘an extremist’ who was condemned and killed outright in an horrible manner, like the lady, 70 years old, (or older), who was making fun of him, (she knew he was an ass and horrible person who was inhabited with so many evil spirits which made him so f—ing crazy and cruel), that your prophet Mohammed did what all modern Muslims are indoctrinated to do: get rid of the opposing viewpoints by killing the innocents. Being the most holy man in Muslim kingdomhood, he decided a just an fitting punishment for this elderly woman: tying her to four hapless camels, by each limb, and forcing them to run in opposing directions, tearing her to pieces, which apparently his demons loved. Reject your evil prophet, and if you do not know his life, I ask you, why not? Are you afraid of learning the truth, and why? Are you so afraid of being a man, and proving things, right or wrong, and then taking the appropriate actions required of moral human beings? If you refuse, you are worse than pond shitten where catfish reside, because you abdicate your Creator’s purpose, which is to seek truth, and reject the lies.

Ravi Ranjan Singh is a most noble and good person, Gandhi would have much admired him had he been alive now to know him. You are a mean person. You can change if you seek truth and begin to be the human you were meant to be. Throw off your indoctrination, take concrete steps to inform yourself of the real truths of your religion, and ask yourself, ‘what kind of God would actually want this for us?’ Not a good one. It’s up to you, so leave off here before you discover the truth about Islam and do what you must to be a human being with a heart and an empathetic brain.

I meant ‘until you discove the truth about Islam’. Then, let us talk about that truth together. Prove all things.

Probably you don’t know the fact that without advent of Islam and Christianity, the Indians would have no choice but to become homosexuals today! Remember, it was the Muslims who influenced and saved Indian women from mass murders emanating from Satidaho, dowry and many other barbaric practices. Kopalkundola and many great works of Hindu reformers are only a few.

Just Google Satidaho, dowry and Kopalkundola!

You are a liar. And you sound like any lying crazed Muslim. I am not prejudiced, but I have seen this type of talk and heard too much of it in my life from Muslims. It is typical to divert attention away from subject at hand by these fallacious assertions.
Are you saying that because Muslims have many problems dealing with women on a normal basis, therefore many rape boys and men on men sexual relations is prevalent in that culture due to your view of women? Indians like their women generally as a people. You can’t say that about Muslims.

As an American I venerate the civil liberties enshrined in our Constitution, those noble truths and freedoms that so define . To that end, I support not only Mr. Wilders right to speak for his constituency but am revolted by the very idea that he could even be drawn up on charges.
Ingrid is absoutely correct in her assertion that the “Prophet” Muhammad was nothing more than a greedy opportunist, murdering polygamist, and a pedophile as well. If predominantly Muslim countries wish to remain in the 15th century adhering to draconian theocratic law, then let it be so. However, I resent any attempt to supplant democratically inclined-Western-Christian nations with such backwards rot. We too will defend our culture, our vaues, and our people.

Jewish Women Must Not Vote

I thought only Muslims had misogynistic attitudes? Are these Judeo-Christian values on display? Is this the Western Civilization prized as superior by the likes of Bill Maher? Imagine if this Rabbi were Muslim, Robert Spencer and his buddy Pamela Geller would be all over it like a hot cake. (hat tip: Mikebloke)

West Bank Rabbi Bans Women from Voting

The chief rabbi of a West Bank settlement has prohibited women from standing in a local community election.

Rabbi Elyakim Levanon of the Elon Moreh settlement, near Nablus, said women lacked the authority to stand for the post of local secretary.
He wrote in a community newspaper that women must only be heard through their husbands.

No women have registered for the election due to be held later on Wednesday, Israeli media reported.

The rabbi made his comments in the community’s newspaper after an unidentified young woman wrote to him asking if she could run for the position of community secretary, the Israeli news website Ynet News said.
‘Giving authority’

“I am a young woman and I think I have desire and energy to do things,” Ynet News quoted the woman as writing to Rabbi Levanon.
“It’s not right for men to be the only ones deciding how to run the community,” the letter reportedly said.

But in his weekly column, Rabbi Levanon wrote that, according to the teachings of influential rabbis, women were not allowed to apply for the position.

“The first problem is giving women authority, and being a secretary means having authority,” Rabbi Levanon wrote in the community’s newspaper.
“Within the family certain debates are held and when opinions are united the husband presents the family’s opinion.

“This is the proper way to prevent a situation in which the woman votes one way and her husband votes another,” he wrote.

He also said it was not appropriate for women to mix with men in late evening meetings of community leaders.

Women’s groups have condemned the comments.

“Such talk is scandalous enough to call the rabbi for a clarification. I expect leaders of the religious public in Israel to condemn the rabbi’s instruction,” Nurit Tzur of the Israel Women’s Lobby said .

Jewish Women Must Seat Behind Bus

Woman beaten on J’lem bus for refusing to move to rear seat
Miriam Shear says she was traveling to pray at the Western Wall in Jerusalem’s Old City early on November 24 when a group of ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) men attacked her for refusing to move to the back of the Egged No. 2 bus.
By Daphna Berman

A woman who reported a vicious attack by an ad-hoc “modesty patrol” on a Jerusalem bus last month is now lining up support for her case and may be included in a petition to the High Court of Justice over the legality of sex-segregated buses.

Miriam Shear says she was traveling to pray at the Western Wall in Jerusalem’s Old City early on November 24 when a group of ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) men attacked her for refusing to move to the back of the Egged No. 2 bus. She is now in touch with several legal advocacy and women’s organizations, and at the same time, waiting for the police to apprehend her attackers.

In her first interview since the incident, Shear says that on the bus three weeks ago, she was slapped, kicked, punched and pushed by a group of men who demanded that she sit in the back of the bus with the other women. The bus driver, in response to a media inquiry, denied that violence was used against her, but Shear’s account has been substantiated by an unrelated eyewitness on the bus who confirmed that she sustained an unprovoked “severe beating.”

Shear, an American-Israeli woman who currently lives in Canada, says that on a recent five-week vacation to Israel, she rode the bus daily to the Old City to pray at sunrise. Though not defined by Egged as a sex-segregated “mehadrin” bus, women usually sit in the back, while men sit in the front, as a matter of custom.

“Every two or three days, someone would tell me to sit in the back, sometimes politely and sometimes not,” she recalled this week in a telephone interview. “I was always polite and said ‘No. This is not a synagogue. I am not going to sit in the back.'”

But Shear, a 50-year-old religious woman, says that on the morning of the 24th, a man got onto the bus and demanded her seat – even though there were a number of other seats available in the front of the bus.

“I said, I’m not moving and he said, ‘I’m not asking you, I’m telling you.’ Then he spat in my face and at that point, I was in high adrenaline mode and called him a son-of-a-bitch, which I am not proud of. Then I spat back. At that point, he pushed me down and people on the bus were screaming that I was crazy. Four men surrounded me and slapped my face, punched me in the chest, pulled at my clothes, beat me, kicked me. My snood [hair covering] came off. I was fighting back and kicked one of the men in his privates. I will never forget the look on his face.”

Shear says that when she bent down in the aisle to retrieve her hair covering, “one of the men kicked me in the face. Thank God he missed my eye. I got up and punched him. I said, ‘I want my hair covering back’ but he wouldn’t give it to me, so I took his black hat and threw it in the aisle.”

‘Stupid American’
Throughout the encounter, Shear says the bus driver “did nothing.” The other passengers, she says, blamed her for not moving to the back of the bus and called her a “stupid American with no sechel [common sense.] People blamed me for not knowing my place and not going to the back of the bus where I belong.”

According to Yehoshua Meyer, the eyewitness to the incident, Shear’s account is entirely accurate. “I saw everything,” he said. “Someone got on the bus and demanded that she go to the back, but she didn’t agree. She was badly beaten and her whole body sustained hits and kicks. She tried to fight back and no one would help her. I tried to help, but someone was stopping me from getting up. My phone’s battery was dead, so I couldn’t call the police. I yelled for the bus driver to stop. He stopped once, but he didn’t do anything. When we finally got to the Kotel [Western Wall], she was beaten badly and I helped her go to the police.”

Shear says that when she first started riding the No. 2 line, she did not even know that it was sometimes sex-segregated. She also says that sitting in the front is simply more comfortable. “I’m a 50-year-old woman and I don’t like to sit in the back. I’m dressed appropriately and I was on a public bus.”
“It is very dangerous for a group of people to take control over a public entity and enforce their will without going through due process,” she said. “Even if they [Haredim who want a segregated bus] are a majority – and I don’t think they are – they have options available. They can petition Egged or hire their own private line. But as long as it’s a public bus, I don’t care if there are 500 people telling me where to sit. I can sit wherever I want and so can anyone else.”

Meyer says that throughout the incident, the other passengers blamed Shear for not sitting in the back. “They’ll probably claim that she attacked them first, but that’s totally untrue. She was abused terribly, and I’ve never seen anything like it.”

Word of Shear’s story traveled quickly after she forwarded an e-mail detailing her experience. She has been contacted by a number of groups, including Shatil, the New Israel Fund’s Empowerment and Training Center for Social Change; Kolech, a religious women’s forum; the Israel Religious Action Center (IRAC), the legal advocacy arm of the local Reform movement; and the Jewish Orthodox Feminist Alliance (JOFA).

In the coming month, IRAC will be submitting a petition to the High Court of Justice against the Transportation Ministry over the issue of segregated Egged buses. IRAC attorney Orly Erez-Likhovski is in touch with Shear and is considering including her in the petition.

Although the No. 2 Jerusalem bus where the incident occurred is not actually defined as a mehadrin line, Erez-Likhovski says that Shear’s story is further proof that the issue requires legal clarification. About 30 Egged buses are designated as mehadrin, mostly on inter-city lines, but they are not marked to indicate this. “There’s no way to identify a mehadrin bus, which in itself is a problem,” she said.

“Theoretically, a person can sit wherever they want, even on a mehadrin line, but we’re seeing that people are enforcing [the gender segregation] even on non-mehadrin lines and that’s the part of the danger,” she said.

On a mehadrin bus, women enter and exit through the rear door, and the seats from the rear door back are generally considered the “women’s section.” A child is usually sent forward to pay the driver.
The official responses

In a response from Egged, the bus driver denied that Shear was physically attacked in any way.

“In a thorough inquiry that we conducted, we found that the bus driver does not confirm that any violence was used against the complainant,” Egged spokesman Ron Ratner wrote.

“According to the driver, once he saw that there was a crowd gathering around her, he stopped the bus and went to check what was going on. He clarified to the passengers that the bus was not a mehadrin line and that all passengers on the line are permitted to sit wherever they want on the bus. After making sure that the passengers returned to their seats, he continued driving.”

The Egged response also noted that their drivers “are not able and are not authorized to supervise the behavior of the passengers in all situations.”
Ministry of Transportation spokesperson Avner Ovadia said in response that the mehadrin lines are “the result of agreements reached between Egged and Haredi bodies” and are therefore unconnected to the ministry.

A spokesperson for the Jerusalem police said the case is still under investigation.

It’s a good thing that Muslims don’t control that whole area. She would have been stoned or raped and beheaded, F.A. above, so – what is your point? This is terrible, yes, but it is from intimidations by barbarians. Are you so stupid to try to pretend to us that you would’ve beeen kind to her if it had been one of your own women?????

c. Hordyk

It is time to do your own research. Read the full Koran, do not listen to Muslims but read it yourself and find out what it really teaches. It is contradictory as all get out. But it most definitely teaches no civil rights as we still enjoy them. You only need to look at the countries that expound its “truths” where there is absolutely no religious freedom, where people are jailed and worse for believing differently.

22 10 2010

C. Hordyk, you are absolutely right. Everyone needs to read that vile Quran.

In chronological order, not the more available screwed up order of short-verse-first.

They arrange them mostly that way cause it obscures the real whole picture.

dribs and drabs of disconnected subjects, peace, then, murder, then, peace, then murder, it is peace first, then, murder after, and you have to read it in chron. order to see what was first, cause if the later verses contradict the former, the later ones are what Mohammed said to go by, it was better and newer information from Allah.

I agree with Mr. Wilders that the Dutch legal system is like the mafia – it probably always has been.
I’m German, in 1970 I lived in Belgium with my English fiancee. We visited Amsterdam for a weekend when we were invited to a party, which unknown to us was held in a squatted house. In the early hours the place was raided by police. We were both arrested without any specific charges, taken to the police station and given deportation orders with immediate effect. Every penny of cash was taken from me to pay for the cost of deportation of my fiance to the UK by plane from Schiphol. A dutch police van then drove me to the German border where I was arrested by German border police and put in detention for being a “vagrant without funds” I escaped through an unsecured window, made my way back to Brussels where I met up with my fiancee a few days later.
