Dear blog managers,

I would appreciate it if you did not publish my email address on your blog.

Dear Mr. Geert Wilders,

My comments, which was deleted were about the kind of justice that is being dealt out to you, which is not appropriate.

The trial has first of all has all the characteristics of being vexatious litigation.

What credibility has a public prosecutor who first dismisses a complaint for there being not a case. This is followed by a hearing in a higher court with a ruling that there is a case. And now the case is brought back by the same public prosecutor. But this time the complaint has been changed.

The other characteristics is that of a Kangaroo Court trial.

That is a sham trial that has a predetermined outcome because the procedures are arranged to achieve a desired outcome.
It is a trial that denies the defendant due process.
It is the right to summon witnesses, the right to cross-examine, the right not to incriminate oneself, the right not to be tried on secret evidence, the right to control one’s own defence, the right to exclude evidence that is improperly obtained, irrelevant or inherently inadmissible, e.g., hearsay, the right to exclude prosecutors and judges on the grounds of not being impartial or having a conflict of interest.

To have a trial about an offence of commission that is doing something illegal, or omission, that is failing to do something that is obligatory to do is what the legal system is for.
When a trial is being held about what someone says to someone else and what is being said is true, defamation is not the issue, but freedom of speech is.
This trial has all the hallmarks of a heresy trial.
The first article in the Dutch Constitution is about freedom of thought, speech and religion. The Dutch nation is the result of an eighty year war about these issues.

The Dutch people in particular and everyone in Europe and the Western World should be outraged by this trial.

Bart Benschop – sorry about that. Blame WordPress, not me – I’ll try to edit your email out.

Re: Geert Wilders, I think you’re dead on: this isn’t about defamation, it’s about freedom of speech, pure and simple.

Stating a set of facts and what one thinks is their obvious purport doesn’t make one a criminal!

I strongly support Geert Wilders right to speak out. After all it is a matter of principle and the essence of democracy.
